Portland is not only a booming city, but it has a very eclectic taste when it comes to food and culture. There are some really great and diverse restaurants in the Pearl District that’s sure to catch your eye.
One nice place to check out is Andina. It’s a really sleek Peruvian restaurant with a very attractive bar in place. It has a medium price range, but it’s well worth it with all the different entrees as well as appetizers available. There is also great seafood available. You’re sure to have an incredible time with the good music flowing throughout as well as the Sacsayhuaman cocktail to get you started on your night out.
For something a bit more elegant, Bluehour is the place for your evening out. You can have a romantic dinner with your loved one as you share a very nice/sexy atmosphere. The place gets packed on the weekend as it’s typically a hot night spot. It’s a bit pricey, but the menu is well worth it with great dishes like sauteed sweetbreads with green lentils and crispy fried onions. The wine list is also extensive so you can have the right feeling going toward your night out with someone special.
For something completely different and has more focus on drinks than the food, Teardrop Cocktail Lounge is the place for you. Mixology is becoming a more popular art form of bartending. These guys (Ted Charak and Daniel Shoemaker) take it to the next level with their great cocktails and mixed drinks. The great thing about them is that they make their own drinks such as bitters, concoct drinks as well as elixirs to provide you with that homemade experience. There’s a very simple menu so you can have a light snack while you get some good drinks.
