Photographer Jack Satta captured this image from the top of Powell Butte Nature Park as the sun set and the moon came into frame, using a digital Canon 5D camera with a medium telephoto zoom lens.
Jack Satta’s work was chosen for the debut of “A View from the East” – a new monthly section in East County News. As part of the new section, professional and amateur photographers in the area are invited to submit strong photos with real impact to run on our front page. Each month, we’ll select one photo for publication. If yours is chosen, you’ll receive $45 and full credit for your work. We’ll consider any genre (portrait, landscape, etc.). Only photos taken in outer East Portland – East of 82nd Avenue, between the Columbia River and Holgate Boulevard – will be considered.
Each photo submission must be accompanied by caption information, and we’d also like to know how you shot it (digital or film, brand of camera, type of lens). To submit a photo for consideration, send a scaled-down version via email to editor@eastcountynews.com with “A View from the East” in the subject line, or send prints to 1190 N.E. Division St., Gresham, OR 97222.
